Below you will find short profiles of each of our performers and you can find out more about the troupe on our website here [link]  Demian von Metzengerstein: Fool (Dollshe Saint)Born in rural Bavaria, Demian is the only child of Baron von Metzengerstein of Zweihügel. A bitter disappointment to the Old Baron as, not only was Demian more interested in playing the piano than shooting game, he is also afflicted with the family curse of congenital vampirism. His early life was a study in abuse until, at the age of 15, he ran away from home. After living a self-destructive life on the streets of Berlin, he met Palladino and was eventually reunited with his beloved cousin Severin. He is a founding member of the NachtZirkus.  Severin de Saint Germain: Ringmaster (Dollmore Lawrence Owen)Severin is a congenital vampire and the last survivor of the ancient house of Saint Germain. He is a man of another age. Although born at the height of the Renaissance, he has felt most at home in the jewelled salons of the Eighteenth Century. His urbane manner and quick wit have earned him a seat at many an influential dinner table. Indeed, he was the inspiration for Wilde’s Lord Henry Wotton and is depicted as Saint Lawrence in a painting by Bronzino. It is also believed that he gave rise to the enduring legend of le Comte de Saint Germain, an alchemist who achieved immortality by discovering the elixir of life.  Lilu: Hideous Night Daemon (Soom Sard)Lilu is a creature of the mindless moment. He is the accidental produce of an alchemical experiment by Severin and Palladino. He is an incubus, an unnatural being that feeds on the psychic energy of extreme human emotions such as joy, sexual arousal and excitement. Lilu was created without the capacity for memory. He lives his life in the present, without reflection or comprehension. He has no language and is incapable of acquiring a moral sense.  Madeleine Besson: Child Prodigy (Souldoll Hye)On the eve of her thirteenth birthday, Madeleine witnesses the accidental death of her mother. Left without family or friends, she goes in search of the father she has never met. Her mother had told her that her father was "special". As she continues with her search, Madeleine finds out just what this means. Her father is Baron Demian von Metzengerstein, fool and acrobat with the NachtZirkus and congenital vampire. As she progresses, Madeleine notices changes happening in her body and mind. She experiences a hunger she has never felt and discovers powers she never knew she had. What is she becoming?  Bosch: Lord of the Flies (Orientdoll Dong)What is there to say about Bosch? He is small, mean and likes to wear women's clothing. He is a piece of ethereal flotsam that arrived when Lilu was created, an astral fly that blew in when the psychic window was opened. No one knows what sort of being he is, but it is believed that he is drawn towards the things that you and I forget. If your umbrella is no longer with you when you leave the train and one of yesterday's earrings has been mysteriously mislaid, Bosch has it. The car keys on the hall table, the £10 note in your wallet, that last mouthful of coffee in the bottom of your cup. If you could have sworn that it was there and you find that it is not, Bosch has it.  Horse: Wild Animal Tamer (Iplehouse Akando-Pierrot)No one can take control like Horse can. A Master of BDSM and tantra, Horse has the knowledge and skill to calm the wildest heart or stoke a soul to transcendent ecstasy. Horse is a Paracletus, a friend or helper of the population of congenital vampires known as Peregrini. He helps forge a bridge between their secret, night time world and that of the everyday. Very few are accorded this honour but Horse's integrity, fortitude and insight have earned him their trust and respect.  Palladino del Cielo: L'angelo della Pietà (Dollshe Bernard)Palladino is old, very old. He was born in Venice in the early 16th century and he was born with the voice of an angel. In order to retain this power, he was made a castrato and became famous throughout Italy as the man who could charm the birds from out of the trees. He aquired a patron, a master alchemist, and was given the elixir of life. His youthful beauty, as well as his voice, were thereby suspended in time. He became involved with the Perigrini, the race of congenital vampires, when he discovered their shared resistance to physical degeneration. He met Severin, a Perigrinus, at a dinner hosted by Giacomo Casanova. They soon became friends and lovers. Two hundred years later, they remain united.  Baines and Blackwood: The Feral Twins (LittleFee Ante Boy and Pipi)I was on one of my scouting trips across Europe when I heard of a set of twins living in a Romanian orphanage. They had been found in a forest and it was rumoured that they had been raised by wolves. With the blessing of the Matron of the orphanage, I brought them to be cared for at the Zirkus. They continue to speak a language that no one but they understand and haven’t grown an inch taller in all the time they have been with us.  Merrick: Conjurer (Leeke Mihael/Demon Garden hybrid)Merrick can move objects using only the power of his mind. He is also able to communicate with animals. Whilst he is a well-loved member of the troupe, he appears to be hiding a dark secret.  Highgate: The Miraculous Miniataur (Lumedoll IO Moon)Highgate is the essence of a very particular feeling. He is created when you stop and pay attention to the small pleasures of life: the taste of cake fresh from the oven; the pattern that leaves make against a clear, summer sky; the familiar goodnight kiss of a mother or lover. Each time you pause to savour one of these small pleasures, Highgate smiles. And each time Highgate smiles, the sea of goodness that bathes the world is swelled by one, small drop. So, pause for a minute and enjoy the small pleasures of life and make Highgate smile.  Mauzi von Sternburg: Hellcat of the High Wire (Iplehouse Jessica)Mauzi and her twin sister Mitzi are twin dominatrices. They became legend on the Berlin BDSM circuit for their unsurpassed skill at eliciting exquisite extremes of mental and physical pain. In fulfilling the ultimate fantasy of one of their clients, they inadvertently became murderers. They were rescued from a life in prison and recruited to the NachtZirkus where they express their unique style as trapeze artists. |
